Viv Armstrong

Invited Governor

Viv joined as a parent governor in early 2020 and is now an invited governor.

Viv joined the Board of Governors as a parent governor in early 2020, shortly before COVID began.  When the second of her daughters left the school, she became an invited governor.  With one daughter who is deaf and the other with ADHD, Viv naturally has a special interest in the SEN and inclusion side of things and is a member of the Inclusion subcommittee.

Viv started her academic career at St Clement's School before Le Rocquier was even built.  She moved on to JCG and university after that.  She trained as a secondary school languages teacher, teaching in a boarding school in the Midlands where she was also a house tutor, before retraining as a solicitor.  All the while, she was a Mum in waiting and stopped practising law when her youngest daughter was born.  She now has a very flexible job looking after her husband's bookkeeping and also helping out with invigilation at JCG.

In her spare time, Viv enjoys choral singing, riding her bike, baking and embarrassing her children.
