Debbie Bertram
Invited Governor
Debbie was born in Jersey and is the mother of three children. Her eldest has learning Disabilities for whom she is a full-time carer, and she also works part time as a Residential Childcare Officer for the Children's Service. In addition to this she also sits on the Board and Panel's for numerous Charities.
Debbie’s two younger children are both at university with her daughter studying Learning Disability Nursing and her son Music Technology. Both attended Le Rocquier School, and she was actually in the third intake of students when the school was originally built in 1975.
After working in numerous different jobs and backpacking all over the world, Debbie attended the University of East London as a mature student (aged 30) and graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance.
Having always had an interest in the school, Debbie applied for the post of Parent Governor, to which she was elected in December 2017. After her last child left Le Rocquier in July 2020, she then stayed on as an Invited Governor.
Debbie’s main interests apart from walking, reading, pilates and baking has to be travelling, for which she still has a very long list of countries to visit.
