50th Anniversary Year 2025-26
This page is currently awaiting content and is under construction
We are delighted to celebrate an amazing 50 years of serving our Island, Local Community and our wonderful students and here is how to join in...
It is 50 Years since 200 students walked into the half-built Le Roicquier School in September 1975. These first, brave students paved the way for over 10,000 further students to pass through our school. Le Rocquier School sits proudly at the centre of the local community, and we will be inviting our past and present students, parents and teachers to join in our 50th Celebrations.
SHARE YOUR PHOTOS FROM THE PAST
We are launching a project to collect as many photos and items of memorability as possible from the past 50 Years. We ask all past and present students, teachers and parents to find those old photos, paper cuttings, notes, books etc... to help create installations within school showcasing Le Rocquier through the years. Once you have dug out your photos or items, decide which ones you want to share, scan them or take good quality copies on camera phones and use this link to share them with us. If it is more than a photo or press cutting, please contact school and ask for Business Manager so we can help receive it into school for sharing during our 50th Year. If you have photos or items you wish to donate to us, please get in touch.
Use this link to upload copies of your photos, press cuttings, newsletters etc... (Under Construction)
We hope that when you find those old photos and books, you share your stories and memories not just with us, but with your family as well. So climb into the loft, look under the bed or visit family to find those memories.
OPEN DAYS FROM MONDAY 12th NOVEMBER to 23rd November 2025
This is a really exciting chance for us to create a repository of images and items form our past. We then plan to print as many as we can and fill the school with all the images and items. We will then open the school for tours during a whole week in November. Tours will be bookable during the day and evenings. If cohorts of students wish to come in together, we can try to accommodate this, please get in touch. A booking link will be posted here in September 25.
CLASS of 1975 - Our First Intake
Many of the Class of 1975 are still in touch via a Facebook group. 'Le Rocquier School First Intake 1975 Classmates' We have arranged for representatives of the year to walk into school on the same day 50 years later. Their first moments in school were an assembly on the 8th September 1975 and we will hold an assembly for them to attend not as students, but as Le Rocquier alumni with wisdom and experience to share with our younger students. If you were a member of the 1975 intake and not already a member of the 'Le Rocquier School First Intake 1975 Classmates' Facebook Group, please use this link 'Le Rocquier School First Intake 1975 Classmates' to connect with your old class mates and get involved. Later in that first week, we will hold a special open evening for the 1975 cohort to look around the school and celebrate 50 Years sice they joined our school.
PAST TEACHERS, HEADTEACHERS, DEPUTY HEADTEACHERS, TAs, GOVERNORS AND NON-TEACHING STAFF
We will be holding a special open evening for past colleagues and those keenly connected to the school on Wednesday 12th November. Please hold this date in your diaries and we will announce more information and how to book in due course.
