Diet plays a crucial role in the healthy development and prevention of ill health in children, and yet many families are unable to access healthy food or adequate cooking facilities. Many don’t have the knowledge or skills needed to prepare nutritious food.

Our catering partner is Flourish and they seek to empower children and young people in Jersey to grow, cook and eat healthy food in childhood and beyond, by educating, inspiring and supporting them and their families.

Flourish believe that in order to encourage children to develop good eating habits and live healthier lives, they should understand where food comes from, how to prepare it and should learn to enjoy a wide variety of ingredients.

Notes for parents:

Flourish are an external company and operate our food concession via a contract with CYPES.  If there is an issue with their payment cards this must be taken up with Flourish in the first instance as we have no control or involvement in the card system.  If there is an issue with the quality of the food, this again should be taken up with Flourish in the first instance.  Their email is 'info@caringcooksofjersey'.com.

Should a student have an issue in school with a card they are to speak with the Flourish staff who can access their computer system.  This is best done once the food service has reduced and a member of Flourish staff is free.

As an alternative to the Flourish cards or if a card is forgotten, cash is always accepted in the canteen.  Debit cards are not currently accepted.
