"Le Rocquier students have again achieved outstanding examination successes today and we are delighted for them. Many have achieved beyond their expectations, and you could hear the screams of delight and joy from the car park this morning. They now go on to their A Levels, BTEC or employment with a significant spring in their step. They have produced an outstanding set of results which reflects their own commitment in lessons and the valued support of my colleagues across the school. Our students showed tremendous resilience and determination towards their exams, and we are proud of each and every one of them. This cohort has shown all of the attributes our school aims to instil in young people during their 5 years with us, and they are now well-prepared for their next steps in whatever they decide to do in the future. GCSE Value Added:

Le Rocquier is a 'Secondary Modern' School. This means we are a non-selective school in a highly selective education system where 40% of students are in fee-paying schools compared to 7% in the UK. We therefore use 2 methods of benchmarking our results to describe the 'value we add'. Comparing the number of students who gained Grade 4 in English does not describe value. We want all our students to excel at every ability from grade 1 up to grade 9 and only the Value Added methods reflect this approach. The 2 methods we use are ALPS and Value Added from CAT 4 data (CAT 4 Tests are sat by all Year 9 students across the Island).

ALPS: We use an educational-based data tool called ALPS to provide us with a comparison of our GCSE Grades with UK students and schools. It provides a Q-Score from 1 to 9. A score of 1 would put their results profile in the top 10% of results. A score of 5 would put the Year 11 cohort at the mean average point.

Le Rocquier is proud to offer an accessible curriculum at Key Stage 4 which allows students of all abilities and starting points to make progress, acquire life-long learning skills and access 16+ pathways.

Value Added (VA) via CAT 4 Data:

The following subjects met or exceeded their expected Value Added (Each student is set a Minimum Expected GCSE Grade or 'MEG' (GL Assessment 'CAT 4 Test' Minimum Expected Grade) for each subject they take. A subject adds value by achieving more than the student's MEG. When a subject has +1 VA, it means that, on average, students taking that subject achieved one grade higher than their MEG.

18 out of 23 subjects achieved or exceeded their expected GCSE grades and added significant value
15 subjects had a value added score of more than +0.33 of a grade per student
8 subjects had a value added score of more than +1 grade per student
4 subjects had a value added score of more than +1.5 grades per student
1 subject had a value added score of +2
4 subjects had negative value added of no less than -0.33 of a grade
Attainment 8 is just over 45

Average VA for the whole school is +0.47

Le Rocquier School added just short of half a grade more than expected to each individual exam result.

19% of all grades were Grade 7 or higher.
